August 1 marks the 10th anniversary of the Perpetual Chaplet, which is a prayerful endeavor managed by the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy at www.faustyna.pl and its 7 language versions. It was inspired by the request made by Jesus that He uttered to St. Faustina, to use the words of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy to incessantly ask for “mercy – for us and the whole world” (see Diary, 687). The participants of this prayer are people from all over the world and all the continents, who have at least once declared to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy on a chosen day and time by filling out a simple form. In addition to personal intentions, each month we plead for God’s mercy in important general intentions. The fruits of this prayer are only known to the Lord. What we know is that no request goes unheeded provided it is in accord with God’s will, which for us is mercy itself, and if we ask with trust, striving to do God’s will faithfully and to love our neighbor actively, which is the foundation of every form of Divine Mercy devotion.
