On Saturday, May 23, the annual spring pilgrimage to the Rock Sanctuary of Divine Mercy on Mount Butkov in Slovakia will take place. The celebrations will begin with the communal Stations of the Cross at 12:30 p.m. At 3:00 p.m. there will be prayer at the Hour of Mercy and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy led by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Mother of God of Mercy. The solemn Holy Mass at 3:35 p.m. will be presided over by Monsignor Tomasz Szopa, rector of the Sanctuary of St. John Paul II in Kraków. The program also includes a performance by The Gospel Family and soloists from the Slovak National Opera in Bratislava.
The place dedicated to the Divine Mercy devotion on Mount Butkov (11th level of the quarry), where a large illuminated Cross and statues of Saint Sister Faustina and Saint John Paul II had previously been installed, is part of the “Rock Sanctuary of Divine Mercy” with the church in Ladce.
