From April 24–26 this year, the 5th National Congress of Members and Volunteers of Faustinum will take place in Rome under the title: “To Meet the Master – Mercy at the Heart of the Church.” The program includes: Eucharist at the tomb of John Paul II in St. Peter’s Basilica and at the Sanctuary of Santo Spirito in Sassia; catecheses by Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, Prefect Emeritus of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Fr. Matteo Castellina, and Fr. Attilio Guelli OFMCap; common prayer (Hour of Mercy, Chaplet, Rosary, and adoration), as well as testimonies and fraternal gatherings. On Sunday, a solemn ceremony of admitting new members to Faustinum will take place, presided over by Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller. The meeting will be attended by the president of the Association of Apostles of Divine Mercy Faustinum, Sr. Emanuela Gemza, and sisters from the Roman community of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy.
The “Faustinum” Association, based at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Kraków-Łagiewniki, was erected by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Kraków, Cardinal Franciszek Macharski, on March 6, 1996. It brings together priests, consecrated persons, and lay faithful from nearly 90 countries who, together with the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, participate in the mission of St. Faustina to bring the message of Mercy to the world through witness of life, deeds, words, and prayer. The Association provides formation for apostles of Divine Mercy—basic and ongoing, communal and individual—in several languages, based on the Word of God, the teaching of the Church, and the spiritual school of St. Faustina.
