On May 18 this year, on the anniversary of the birth of Saint John Paul II, at 3:00 p.m., for the ninth time the faithful of Australia and Oceania will unite in prayer with the words of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The initiative is a fruit of the Divine Mercy Congress held in Melbourne in 2018 and consists in joining together in prayer twice a year: on May 18 – the anniversary of the birth of Saint John Paul II, and on September 13 – the anniversary of the revelation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, especially among the faithful of Australia and Oceania. The Sisters of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy have also joined this initiative. On May 18 this year, all participants in this initiative, including those from other countries around the world, will pray for the following intentions:
- For peace throughout the world and for the healing of the wounds of nations affected by hatred and violence.
• For the Church and Holy Father Leo XIV, bishops, priests, and all the People of God, that they may be for all people a clear sign of God’s presence and a safe harbor of salvation.
• For the triumph of Divine Mercy in the hearts of the doubtful, the lost, and those who are searching.
• For the protection of people’s health from diseases that arouse fear and anxiety.
• For the intentions of all those taking part in this initiative.
