On June 24 this year, at the Diocesan Museum in Rzeszów, art historian Bartosz Podubny will present a lecture on the origins and history of the convent complex of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy at the Sanctuary in Kraków-Łagiewniki. His lecture will focus not only on the architecture of this site—the world capital of the Divine Mercy devotion—its interior design and furnishings, but also on the patrons involved in its creation, including the Bishops of Kraków, Albin Dunajewski and Jan Puzyna, as well as the architects, artists, and craftsmen who contributed to its development. Such distinguished creators as Sławomir Odrzywolski, Zygmunt Langman, Jan Bąkowski, Zdzisław Gedliczka, and Ferdynand Majerski of Przemyśl worked for the convent in Kraków-Łagiewniki. The event accompanies the temporary exhibition “Workshop and Temple – Designs for Sacred Interior Furnishings from the Dąbrowski Collection of Żołynia by the Majerski and Dąbrowski Families,” which has been extended until June 30, 2026.
