During the World Youth Day, due to the Jubilee of Mercy celebrated in the Church, a Pilgrimage of Mercy is planned for organized groups, mostly of foreign visitors, on 26-29 July between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. This Jubilee youth pilgrimage will begin at the Shrine of John Paul II and proceed along the newly built footbridge over the river Wilga to the basilica at the Shrine of Divine Mercy, where the participants will pass through the Jubilee Door of Mercy. At the basilica, they will be able to honor the relics of the patrons of World Youth Day and great apostles of Divine Mercy: St. Faustina and St. Jana Paul II.
The chapel of the miracle-famous Divine Mercy image of Jesus and the tomb of St. Faustina is not included in the route of the Jubilee Pilgrimage of Mercy. The holy site will be visited by the young people individually, after they will have left the basilica. During WYD, due to the arrangement of footways created for reasons of safety, entrance to the convent’s chapel is possible only from the side of the Siostry Faustyny street. The chapel of the miracle-famous image of Merciful Jesus and the relics of St. Faustina will be available on these days for all the pilgrims also throughout the night.
