On October 30, 2026, a ceremony to bless the chapel dedicated to St. Faustina Kowalska and St. Maurice will take place in Borovoye, Kazakhstan. The Holy Mass will be presided over by Archbishop Tomasz Peta, Metropolitan Archbishop of Astana. The rite of blessing will be performed by Archbishop Andrzej Przybylski, Metropolitan Archbishop of Katowice. During the ceremony, the relics of St. Sister Faustina will also be solemnly handed over by the sisters from the Petropavlovsk community of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy.

Borovoye is a well-known holiday resort located near Shchuchinsk. There is a small Catholic community here. The new chapel was built thanks to the efforts of Fr. Dawid Sładek, parish priest of St. Abraham’s Parish in Shchuchinsk, to which the Catholic community in Borovoye also belongs.

The chapel will be a visible sign of the presence of the Catholic Church in Borovoye, as well as a place of prayer for residents and tourists. It will also become a testimony to living faith and hope for the further development of the community. In addition to the chapel, the building will include rooms designed for meetings, retreats and recreation. Space has also been provided for an organ, so that in the future the chapel may become a venue for organ music concerts and interreligious dialogue.
