During the 13th Pilgrimage of Divine Mercy Devotees to the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Kraków-Łagiewniki, on August 23, 2026, a year-long preparation will begin for the 25th anniversary of the entrustment of the world to Divine Mercy, made by Pope St. John Paul II on August 17, 2002. The main jubilee celebrations are scheduled for August 22, 2027.
Each month, texts on the theme of mercy will be published in six languages (English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Croatian and Ukrainian) on the website of the Shrine Rectorate: www.misericordia.eu. A Novena of Weeks has also been prepared for the final weeks. It will include an excerpt from Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś’s book The Scandal of Mercy, an excerpt from the Diary of St. Sister Faustina, and the Act of Entrustment of the World to Divine Mercy. Those taking part in this preparation will entrust themselves to Divine Mercy, mindful of the words of Jesus and St. John Paul II that “only in the mercy of God will the world find peace and mankind find happiness.”
