Congress of Mercy Communities in Rome

2 min read

On 12 and 13 September, a Congress of leaders of communities living the spirituality of Divine Mercy will be held in Rome. Sisters from the Roman community of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy will take part in the Congress.

The Coordinamento “Misericordia Italia” coordinates various communities and works connected with the spirituality of Divine Mercy throughout Italy. It was established on 22 June 2024 at the Shrine of Divine Mercy – the Church of Santo Spirito in Sassia in Rome. Its aim is to build communion and foster cooperation among the various realities of the Church that live the spirituality of Divine Mercy and are committed to spreading it. The Coordinamento “Misericordia Italia” brings together religious congregations, shrines, associations, movements, spirituality centers, charitable works and prayer groups. Each of these communities retains its own identity and charism, while at the same time having the opportunity to share its experience and undertake joint initiatives with others in the areas of prayer, formation, evangelization and charity.

One of the important joint initiatives is the organization of nationwide congresses in Italy dedicated to Divine Mercy. The first Misericordia Italia Congress, held in September 2025 in Sacrofano near Rome, was attended by about 1,000 people representing 87 different communities and works of Mercy from all over Italy. Our Congregation and the heritage of St. Faustina are represented on the coordinating team of “Misericordia Italia” by Sr. Tymoteusza Kmiotek.
